WALKING ON CARS RELEASES NEW ALBUM: EVERYTHING THIS WAY

IRISH BAND WALKING ON CARS ANNOUNCES U.S. TOUR

PERFORMING AT THE MUSIC HALL OF WILLIAMSBURG BROOKLYN, NY MAY 18TH

Irish band Walking On Cars will kick off a U.S. tour on May 18th at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn. The headline run will also include a show in Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Tickets are available at http://www.walkingoncars.com/. See below for itinerary.

Speeding Cars,” a track from the band’s debut album, Everything This Way (Virgin Records), was recently the Track of the Day at the BBC’s Radio 1. The song, which made the A List at the BBC’s Radio 2, is in the Top 5 on iTunes and Shazam’s Future Hits chart in the U.K. In Ireland, “Speeding Cars” topped the Shazam chart and was a Top 10 airplay hit. “Catch Me If You Can,” another song found on Everything This Way, was featured as one of Annie Mac’s Hottest Records on BBC Radio 1 and reached No. 1 on the iTunes chart in Ireland. The video for

Speeding Cars,” has over 3 million hits on Youtube.

Produced by the MyRiot production team of Tim Bran and Roy Kerr (London Grammar, Bloc Party, Foxes), Everything This Way was the only pre-order able to take the No. 1 spot away from Adele anywhere in the world when it claimed the top spot in Ireland.  In the U.K. the album topped iTunes Alternative Albums chart.

Artfully combining anthemic balladry with booming guitar riffs and sing-along melodies, Walking On Cars have been tipped as an NME Buzzband and praised by London’s Sunday Times for their “epic rock.” Digital Spy hailed the band as Ireland’s “best kept secret” and Gigwise noted, “The ambitious sound of Walking On Cars is destined for worldwide acclaim, and bound for stadiums.”

Walking On Cars is Patrick Sheehy (vocals); Sorcha Durham (keyboards); Dan Devane (guitars); Paul Flannery (bass) and Evan Hadnett (drums) hail from the remote coastal town of Dingle. During a particularly bleak winter, the five friends rented a farmhouse outside of town so they could focus on writing music without the distractions of daily life. Six months later, they emerged with lyrics that veer between tenderness and anguish, soundscapes that sit back, intricate and restrained, and then explode into color and vocals that roar of heartache and romantic longing.

After spending two years on the road, Walking On Cars became Ireland’s biggest independent band, playing sold-out shows, including two nights at the Olympia in Dublin. They won over more fans during their supporting slot on The Kooks’ U.K. tour and at such festivals as Reading & Leeds, Bestival and T in the Park. The band, which has also supported James Bay, Kodaline and The Script, recently played a sold-out show at KOKO in London.

Job Well Done to Na Fianna Band!

Just two weeks ago Daly Communications’s friend, Na Fianna, performed to a SOLD OUT house at Arlene’s Grocery here in NYC.  After debuting their new album, “Na Fianna”, in their home base of Dublin, Ireland, they crossed to this side of the pond as the first act to be launched in the US by the company Global Irish Acts.  Their show at Arlene’s Grocery on 9/10 was a true success for the band and was sponsored by both Daly Communications & Global Irish Acts.

It is a great pleasure that we have the opportunity to work with Na Fianna & Global Irish Acts who specialize in tour promotion and management exclusively for Irish bands working internationally.  This new partnership between the two companies will allow GIA to “build our brand here” in the US according to their head honcho, Dusty Rhodes and “to expand our reach directly into the Irish Music scene and to introduce new acts to Irish America & beyond”, according to President of Daly Communications, Anita Daly.

Na Fianna, who first captured a great audience of one million viewers on the All Ireland Talent Show, is now known for keeping their traditional Irish roots while adding a new flair to their sound.  They have pleased many audiences around Europe with their rich heritage, energy and passionate performances.  Continue to find out more news on Na Fianna’s upcoming US tour  in March 2016 through the Daly Comm website & social media pages!

When watching my show, my hope is that the audience is able to hear the person behind the voice and the emotion brought on by these incredible works of art.”

Emmett is an Irish American, born and raised in the city we all love, NYC! He started his musical journey at a young age by taking music lessons and by the time he was in high school he knew he was destined for a future in music, specifically singing.  Emmett is currently working on his Masters Degree in Voice from the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City.  He is very excited for his summer tour and to continue as a principal singer in Celtic Thunder.

James Hood Releases PURE CEREMONY!

James Hood is back and better than ever! This time, James Hood has outdone himself with his new record, PURE CEREMONY. Stephen Hill, Host of the popular radio show Hearts of Space, praises Hood’s work by saying this album is “an evolutionary vehicle, where just the right amount of musical development and embellishment was added to the project.” This album is a special two disc set featuring 18 soothing songs in a gorgeous case showing the beauty of the Panart Hang drum used to create the music on the front cover of the album.

James Hood began his journey as a drummer for The Pretenders, and then moved on to join forces with Grant Showbiz to create a series of visionary Ambient/Electronic albums under the “Moodswings” brand. After the duo dissolved in 2001, Hood finished the final album solo in 2002. Now, James Hood has truly made a name for himself with his extraordinary talents on the Panart Hang drum.

One of the few instruments invented in the last 100 years, James Hood plays the mesmeric instrument, the Panart Hang drum, and brings immersive entertainment to the world. James Hood says when he plays the instrument “it feels like a miracle.” Interestingly, the production of the drum has ceased, but the sound it creates is continual. The instrument is a circular shape made of steel that requires both hand and finger movement. The instrument has 7 designated notes that creates a beautiful rhythm similar to “sonic incense”, says Hood. James Hood confidently describes the sound as “medication for tired minds.” See him in action for yourself here!

PURE CEREMONY is not just the successor of the incredibly popular CEREMONY album, but is a deeper luxuriant sound of the Panart Hang. This global release will bring a peaceful experience to all listeners and, according to James Hood himself, will access “the divine within us all that is available in every waking (and sleeping) moment.”

After the release of PURE CEREMONY, the album instantly made the #2 spot on the iTunes US World chart, #2 spot on the UK World chart, and made the #1 spot on iTunes Australia and iTunes Canada’s World charts, as well as the #1 spot on the Amazon Canada World chart!

Be sure to get James Hood’s new double CD PURE CEREMONY, available now!

Jeffrey Harmon Smith Appearing at the Duplex Cabaret August 6th

Daly Comm welcomes a talented new addition to our roster, Jeffrey Harmon Smith! Jeffrey’s journey to the stage was not an easy one. Although his heart was always with the theater, Jeffrey graduated from the University of Chicago and Georgetown Law School to pursue a legal profession as an entertainment lawyer. Jeffrey worked mainly for CBS and Lifetime Television, where he served as Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs.
But after 30 years as a lawyer, Jeffrey decided to retire and begin his musical journey. Jeffrey studied acting at Stella Adler Studio and Atlantic Acting School and has made numerous appearances in several independent films. As a playwright, his series of one act plays, DATE-O-RAMA, has been produced off, off Broadway by Around the Block, making it clear that Jeffrey is no stranger to the crazy world of theater. Check out his video reel here.
This summer, Jeffrey takes the stage on August 6th, at 7pm at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre with his own show “AUDITION SONGS… for roles I never would be cast in… and then some.” Jeffrey brings his inimitable style to songs from the theater and pop music scenes and proves without a doubt that there is life after law.

Eileen Ivers to Perform at the Spring 2015 Virginia Arts Festival!

Our friend Eileen Ivers is back with Daly Communications!  This Irish-American fiddler will be performing at the Spring 2015 Virginia Arts Festival on Friday, May 22nd at 8:00pm.  The performance will be taking place at the Williamsburg Lodge, in Williamsburg, VA.

Ivers has been called “the Jimi Hendrix of the violin” by The New York Times – not too shabby for a red-headed female Irish-American!  She has performed with notable acts such as the London Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Pops, Sting, and Patti Smith.  Musicians and musical groups love to collaborate with Ivers and her fiery fiddle.

Her own work has led her to dig deep into Irish and Celtic sounds, tracing connections between continents and scattered Celtic communities, sharing how these connections reverberate in American roots music, delving into jazz sensibilities and Grappelli-esque improvisations, and incorporating her trademark effects with her eye-catching (and ear-catching) electric violin.

Do not miss out on Eileen Ivers at the Virginia Arts Festival at the Williamsburg Lodge in Williamsburg, VA on Friday, May 22nd!
